The National Weather Service says the storm in Alaska will produce steady rain from early morning to mid-evening Tuesday, creating wet and windy conditions throughout San Diego County during the midterm elections.
The storm will sneak into the North County Monday night and move south early Tuesday. About an inch of rain is expected in Oceanside, Carlsbad and San Diego. And onshore winds could gust 20 mph to 30 mph.
The system will then spread north and east, potentially dropping as much as 1.5 inches of precipitation in areas such as Escondido, Fallbrook, Rainbow and Alpine.
Tuesday’s daytime high will be around 60 degrees in San Diego and around 50 degrees in most inland areas. The storm will take advantage of subtropical moisture from eastern Hawaii, which will keep temperatures slightly above normal.
