SAN DIEGO – A large hole has formed on a road in downtown San Diego, causing crews to close the area Friday.
The sink is located on West Broadway, near the Santa Fe Depot train station on Kettner Boulevard.
The recent rains have caused many potholes in the city. On Saturday, Mayor Todd Gloria held a press conference to show what the city is doing to improve the city’s roads.
“We usually have somewhere around 200 pending complaints,” said Gloria. “Almost 2,000 are waiting now. That gives you a sense of the bigger and bigger challenge.”
The city said the roads most affected were in Clairemont Mesa, Mira Mesa and Pacific Beach.
San Diegans can report potholes in need of repair through the city’s Get It Done app.
